Now more than ever, women are needing to find their voice. Talking about past trauma and working toward resolving it can be the next step in your journey. You may be struggling with a recent or old loss and you are having a difficult time moving forward. You feel stuck in your relationship, your job and you don't know where to go next. Any type of loss or trauma, big or small, can paralyze us. Society has pressured us and shaped us in ways we are often not aware and it can be difficult to break free of these roles.
Your life is not predetermined. You are brave and you can take the risks to change your path. I can help you. I have helped many people just like you. I like to think outside the box and incorporate techniques, like meditation, exercise and using pets in therapy, along with more traditional therapy. I provide a feminist and multicultural perspective with the people I see. I am a Heath at Every Size (HAES) informed practitioner and operate from an anti-diet perspective. I believe that a plethora of factors influence both physical and mental health, including political and sociocultural forces.
I believe that everyone can benefit from counseling, even if you don't have a "disorder." I love working with individuals that just want to examine their life, beliefs and values in a safe, nurturing space.
I primarily see people who identify as women, nonbinary, or men who identify as a feminist in an individual setting.
I am open to meeting with people remotely using a video platform, email or phone. Please contact me for details.
If you are interested in becoming a new client, please fill out a screening form. Because of the limited space available in my schedule right now, I want to make sure we will be a good fit on my end too and that I can offer you what you need. You can find the screening form here.
